website research

Website research

What to look out for
·         Layout (button location ect)
·         presentation
·         Usage
·         information

Home page has too much information. This is only half of the main page; I think that the sales information should have been put on another page just to spread it out. The website is very easy to use and navigate though, all the buttons work and take you to the correct page. There is not enough information about the products on this website. George white does advertise their new and improved website on the old one. The one thing that really stands out on this website for me is the font for the buttons; the fonts for the buttons are the fonts for the motorcycle companies. The new George white website has a new layout for the buttons and a new look all together.

J&S
The layout for this website is very basic and easy to use also the website has sub categories for different deals so you don’t need to go and look through the whole site to find what you want. The information given on this website is very detailed and descriptive. Along the side of the website there is a latest added to the used bike section and I think that is a very good feature and there’s no hassle of searching through list. At the bottom of the page there is an advert for the new Kawasaki coming out and the link takes you to the official Kawasaki website. The bad thing about this website is that there is nothing on this website that catches your eye. The only thing that does attract you is the advert for the new Kawasaki and it advertising it for another website.

Damerella

Damerells is mixture of the George White website and the J & S website. In my opinion this is the best website out of the three because it has everything ready for you on the home page without looking untidy and everything is in categories. Another good point about this website is that it is the only site out of the three that you can buy products. One quite crucial point about this website that it only sells Yamaha and Honda products but they do cover all types of bikes (cruiser, street, sport touring ECT). As a site by its self it is very easy to navigate through and find what you want. This is also the only website that uses scrolling adverts; I think I will probably add scrolling images on my website. The information given on this site is very detailed on every bike ranging from available colours, technical specification and general information.
